Giants Sign DT Louis Nix To Futures Contract

The New York Giants officially signed DT Louis Nix to a future/reserve contract on Wednesday.

The Giants list of future/reserve signings now consists of:

1. DT Louis Nix
2. CB Leon McFadden
3. T Jake Rodgers
4. C Shane McDermott
5. WR Tavarres King
6. QB G.J. Kinne
7. K Tom Obarski

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Nix, 24, is a a former third-round pick of the Texans back in May of 2014. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2,852,252 rookie contract when he was among the Texans’ final roster at the start of the season.

The Giants elected to claim him off of waivers, but he has since been on an off of their roster.

This season, Nix has appeared in four games for the Giants, but has yet to record a single statistic.
