Giants Sign Fourth-Round LB B.J. Goodson, Lock Up 2016 Draft Class

The New York Giants announced Thursday that they have officially signed fourth-round LB B.J. Goodson to a four-year deal.

The Giants have now officially locked up their entire 2016 draft class following this move.

Goodson, 23, was taken with the No. 109 overall pick by the Giants over a month ago. The Giants have needed a solid inside linebacker in the middle of their defense for a few seasons now, so the hope is that Goodson can solidify the role in the coming years, even if he doesn’t start right away.

According to OverTheCap.com, Goodson receives a four-year contract worth $3,196,176 to go along with a signing bonus of $856,176.

During his college career at Clemson, Goodson recorded 138 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble, five recoveries, two interceptions, and three pass defenses over the course of four years.
