Giants Sign LB Dan Connor

Pro Football Talk reports that the New York Giants have signed former Cowboy’s linebacker Dan Connor.

PFT adds that Connor will receive a one-year deal from the Giants.

The Giants hosted Connor for a workout yesterday after he had reportedly visited both the Raiders and Steelers previously.

It would make sense to see the Giants look for some extra help at linebacker given that they’re unlikely to bring back Chase Blackburn and have already parted with Michael Boley.

Originally the Panthers third-round pick in 2008, Connor spent last season in Dallas filling in for an injured Sean Lee. He hasn’t been close to being an impact player in recent years. Connor is better at playing the run than in coverage, but I’m sure the Giants got him for a reasonable price at this point in free agency.
