Giants Sign LB Deontae Skinner Off Raiders’ PS, Place LB Nigel Harris On IR

The New York Giants announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Deontae Skinner off the Raiders’ practice squad and placed LB Nigel Harris on injured reserve.

The Giants also waived CB Tim Scott and DE Jordan Williams to make room for Skinner and CB Janoris Jenkins, who has been reinstated from suspension (NFLTR).

Skinner, 26, signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State. He was on and off of the team’s practice squad and active roster for much of the 2014 season before New England brought him back on a future/reserve deal for the 2015 season.

Skinner spent a year with the Eagles before signing onto the Giants’ practice squad a few weeks into the regular season last year. He was on and off of the Giants’ active roster this season before signing on to the Raiders’ practice last month.

In 2016, Skinner appeared four games for the Giants and recorded six tackles and no sacks.
