Giants Sign Four Players Including QB B.J. Daniels, Cut Four

Ralph Vacchiano reports that the Giants are signing QB B.J. Daniels to a contract on Monday after he tried out for the team this past weekend.

  • The other players signed include: WR Kardon Boone, WR Donte Foster and DE Ishaq Williams.
  • The Giants also waived WR Ben Edwards, LB James Morris, QB Josh Woodrum, and TE Cedric Lang. (Dan Graziano)

Daniels was one of the more notable players in attendance for tryouts out of a group that consisted of 45 players.

Daniels, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He lasted less than a year in San Francisco before he was waived and later claimed by the Seahawks.

Daniels was able to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was on and off the Seahawks’ roster before eventually being waived in December and later signed by the Texans.

He signed a two-year contract with Houston was set to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season, but was unfortunately cut loose a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Daniels appeared in eight games and record one catch for 12 yards receiving to go along with six rushes for for six yards and no touchdowns. He also completed one of two passes for seven yards.
