Giants TE Matt LaCosse Requires Knee Surgery, Could Still Return This Season

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that Giants TE Matt LaCosse requires surgery on his right knee, but it is still possible that he could return at some point this season.

Raanan writes that LaCosse was headed towards a significant role in the offense after impressing coaches this offseason, so this is an obvious setback for the young tight end.

In fact, prior to his injury LaCosse was said to be splitting first-team reps with TEs Will Tye and Larry Donnell.

LaCosse, 23, is a second-year undrafted free agent out of Illinois and is set to make a base salary of $450,000 for 2016 and will be an exclusive rights free agent at the end of the year.

We will provide more information regarding LaCosse’s injury as the news becomes available.
