Giants Have Had Trade Talks Regarding OT Ereck Flowers

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Giants have had trade discussions regarding OT Ereck Flowers and the belief is that they will be able to trade him for draft compensation.

Jordan Raanan of ESPN first mentioned that it won’t be surprising to hear that the Giants are trying to trade Flowers during the draft, given that he has skipped the start of offseason workouts and it doesn’t appear that has been particularly well received by the team.

The Giants still need to decide whether or not they’ll pick up his fifth-year option before the upcoming deadline, but the expectation is that they’ll pass on doing so.

Flowers, 23, is a former No. 9 overall pick out of Miami by the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year $14.391 million rookie contract that is fully guaranteed is set to earn a base salary of $2,397,522 for 2018.

In 2017, Flowers appeared in 15 games for the Giants and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 54 overall tackle out of 81 qualifiers.

We’ll have more regarding Flowers as the news is available.
