Giants Tried Out 7 Players Including QB Austin Davis

Howard Balzer reports that the Giants brought in seven players for tryouts on Thursday including QB Austin Davis.

The other players who tried out for New York include: RB Marshaun Coprich, RB Daryl VirgiesĀ (signed), LB Curtis Grant (signed), TE Cedrick Lang, WR Durron Neal, and OL Martin WallaceĀ (signed).

The Giants also signed veteran S Rahim Moore to a futures deal yesterday.

Davis, 27,Ā originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2012. He lasted just over a year with the Rams before signing on to the Dolphins’ practice squad at the start of the 2013 season.

Davis returned to the Rams a few months later but was cut loose at the start of last year and eventually signed by the Browns. Unfortunately, Cleveland waived him coming out of the preseason before the Broncos added him to their active roster at the start of the season.

Denver elected to move on from Davis back in December after they needed a roster spot.

In 2015,Ā Davis appeared in three games for the Browns and threw for 547 yards while completing 59.6 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and three interceptions.
