According to ESPN 980, the New York Giants are hosting former Redskins TE Chris Cooley for a tryout on Tuesday.
Cooley has been trying to make a comeback for the past few months, and even tried out for the Cardinals, but he wound up leaving Arizona without a deal.
Last week, Cooley told Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that he “most definitely still wants to play again” in the NFL, and added that he’s working on a daily basis.
Cooley, 33, hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2012 season with the Redskins. That year, Cooley was limited to appearing in just eight games and recording a single catch for eight yards receiving.
We’ll have more regarding Cooley returning to the NFL as the news is available.
