Giants Trying Out Rookie LB Michael Scherer

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Giants are bringing in rookie LB Michael Scherer for a tryout on Monday.

According to Thomas, Scherer previously worked out for the Bears last week, but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

Scherer wound up going undrafted out of Missouri back in May and has yet to secure an opportunity with an NFL team.

During his four-year college career at Missouri, Scherer recorded 266 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble, two recoveries and six pass defenses over the course of 38 games.
