Giants Waive DB Darian Thompson From IR With Settlement

The New York Giants officially waived DB Darian Thompson from injured reserve with a settlement on Friday.

Thompson, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.45 million contract and set to make base salaries of $705,000 and $805,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Giants waived Thompson with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

In 2017, Thompson appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and recorded 75 tackles, one interception and six pass defenses.
