Giants Waive G Adam Gettis & DT Corbin Bryant From Injured Reserve

The New York Giants officially waived DT Corbin Bryant and G Adam Gettis from injured reserve on Thursday.

Gettis, 28, is a former fifth-round pick by the Redskins in the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons in Washington before signing on with the Raiders’ practice squad. The Giants decided to sign Gettis off Oakland’s practice squad in December of 2015.

New York later made him one of their final roster cuts as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit last year but later added him to their practice squad after clearing waivers. The Giants brought Gettis back on a future/reserve contract this past January.

Unfortunately, New York placed Gettis on injured reserve during the preseason.

In 2015, Gettis appeared in one game for the Giants.

Bryant, 29, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern back in 2011. He later caught on with the Steelers and spent over a year in Pittsburgh before he was cut from their practice squad during the 2012 season.

The Bills signed him to a contract and brought him back on a one-year restricted deal last April worth $1.67 million. Corbin signed on with the Giants this summer but was placing on injured reserve during the preseason.

In 2016, Bryant appeared in eight games and recorded 11 tackles and no sacks for the Bills.
