Giants Waive OL Adam Gettis

The New York Giants announced that they’ve placed OL Adam Gettis on waivers Saturday to make room for RB Shane Vereen, who has been activated from injured reserve.

Gettis, 28, is a former fifth-round pick by the Redskins in the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons in Washington before signing on with the Raiders’ practice squad. The Giants decided to sign Gettis off Oakland’s practice squad in December of last year.

The Giants, unfortunately, waived him coming out of the preseason but later signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers. Gettis was promoted to their active roster a month ago.

In 2016, Gettis appeared in three games for the Giants.
