Giants Waive QB Keith Wenning & RB George Winn

The New York Giants announced Monday that they have waived QB Keith Wenning and RB George Winn.

Wenning, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. He was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason during his rookie year but was later added to team’s practice squad.

Baltimore wound up signing Wenning to a future/reserve contract but was cut loose shortly after last year’s draft. The Bengals later signed him to a contract, only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. Wenning was on and off of the Bengals’ active roster last year.

The Giants signed Wenning to their practice squad last year before bringing him back on a future/reserve contract this past January.

Wenning has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Winn, 26, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2013. He lasted just a few days with Houston before he was cut and later signed by the Patriots.

Since then, Winn has played for the Raiders, Steelers and Cowboys before the Lions signed him to a contract in July of 2014. The Lions brought him back on a one-year exclusive rights deal before cutting him coming out of the preseason last year.

Winn was on and off of the Lions’ practice squad before signing on to the Giants’ taxi squad at the end of October.

In 2015, Winn was active for seven games and totaled four rushing attempts for just a single yard and no touchdowns.
