Giants Waive Rookie LB Tony Johnson From I.R. With Settlement

The New York Giants waived rookie LB Tony Johnson from injured reserve with a settlement on Friday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Johnson, 23,  wound up going undrafted out of Louisiana Tech back in May. However, he signed on with the Giants a few months later in June.

New York waived/injured Johnson earlier in the week, so it appears as though he’s healthy enough to look for another opportunity.

During his final season at Louisiana Tech, Johnson recorded 69 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, three pass defenses, two forced fumbles and six quarterback hurries.
