Giants Waive WR Kevin Norwood With Injury Settlement

The New York Giants officially released WR Kevin Norwood from their injured reserve with an injury settlement.

Norwood, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2014. He was traded to the Panthers at the start of last season for a 2017 conditional seventh-round pick after Carolina lost Kelvin Benjamin for the season, due to a torn ACL.

The Panthers placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and eventually waived him. Norwood had a brief stint with the Chargers before signing on to the Giants’ practice squad.

New York elected to bring Norwood back on a future/reserve contract before waiving him with an injury designation. He reverted to their injured reserve after clearing waivers.

In 2015, Norwood was active for just one game but did not catch a single pass.
