Weaver, 27, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2013. After brief stints with the Bengals, Dolphins and Saints, Weaver signed a contract with the Bears towards the end of the 2014 season.
Chicago elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract before later waiving him at the start of the season. The Bears signed him to their practice squad but elected to cut him loose earlier in the week.
Weaver has yet to appear in an NFL game.
