Giants Worked Out Kickers Jason Myers & Andrew Franks

According to Howard Balzer, the New York Giants brought in free agent kickers Andrew Franks and Jason Myers for workouts on Tuesday.

Both players recently worked out for the Chargers and Bengals, but neither was signed to a contract.

Franks, 24, signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Rensselaer back in May of 2015. He was entering the final year of a three-year $1.575 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $615,000 this season when the Dolphins waived him coming out of the preseason after they claimed K Cody Parkey off of waivers from the Browns.

In 2016, Franks appeared in all 16 games for Miami and recorded 16 field goals on 21 attempts (76.2 percent) to go along with 41 converted extra points on 42 attempts (97.6 percent), while kicking 43 touchbacks.

Myers, 26, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent back in 2015 and has managed to make the team the past three seasons. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Jaguars waived him a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Myers has appeared in six games and converted 11 of 15 field goal attempts (73.3 percent) to go along with 15 of 17 extra point tries (88.2 percent).
