Giants Worked Out LBs Eric Pinkins & Myke Tavarres

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Giants hosted free agent linebackers Myke Tavarres and Eric Pinkins for workouts this week.

Pinkins, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Seahawks. He was waived at the start of the regular season last year but signed to their practice squad a day later. Pinkins was on and off of their practice squad throughout most of the year.

Pinkins was on and off of their practice squad throughout most of the year. He later returned to the team on an exclusive rights contract back in March. Seattle waived him with an injury designation last week, which led to him being placed on injured reserve.

Seattle cut Pinkins loose from I.R. with an injury settlement a week ago.

In 2015, Pinkins appeared in six games for the Seahawks and recorded two tackles.

Tavarres, 23, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Incarnate Word back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Eagles and was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season when he was among the team’s final roster cuts.

During his senior season, Tavarres recorded 110 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and five pass defenses.
