Giants Worked Out RBs James Summers & William Stanback

According to Art Stapleton, the Giants brought in free agents running backs James Summers and William Stanback for workouts on Thursday.

Stanback, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of UCF back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

During his college career at UCF, Stanback rushed for 1,151 yards on 306 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 27 receptions for 244 yards receiving and 19 total touchdowns over the course of 25 games.

Summers, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Cardinals cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad for a brief period of time.

During his college career, Summers rushed for 1,315 yards on 258 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 116 yards receiving and 16 total touchdowns over the course of 22 games.
