Giants Working Out 4 Kickers Including Zach Hocker

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Giants are working out kickers on Tuesday including Kyle Brindza, Zach Hocker, Corey Acosta, and Tom Obarski.

Garafolo mentioned that Josh Brown missed an extra point and had a kickoff go out of bounds during their Week 7 win over the Cowboys. However, Garafolo still doesn’t see the Giants moving on from Brown, despite these issues.

Hocker, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins. However, he was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year and was among their final roster cuts.

The Dolphins later signed him to a future/reserve deal in early January before cutting him back May. Hocker later caught on with the Saints and managed to win the job this summer.

In six games this season, Hocker has converted 9 of 13 (69.2 percent) of his field goal attempts. He’s also 11 out of 12 in extra point tries.

Brindza, 22, wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame days after this year’s NFL draft.

In four games this season, Brindza has converted 6 of 12 (50 percent) of his field goal attempts. He’s also 6 out of 8 in extra point tries.
