Giants WRs Darius Powe & Andrew Turzilli Revert To Injured Reserve

The New York Giants placed WRs Darius Powe and Andrew Turzilli on the injured reserve list after passing through waivers unclaimed.

Powe, 23, signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of California back in May of last year. New York waived him shortly after but signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

The Giants re-signed Powe to a futures contract back in January. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his four-year college career at Cal, Powe recorded 104 receptions for 1,253 yards receiving (12 YPC) and 11 touchdowns.

Turzilli, 25, wound up signing on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in May of 2015. He was waived at the start of the season but later signed on to the 49ers’ practice squad.

Tennessee later brought him back when they signed him off of the 49ers’ practice squad, but he was once again waived coming out of the preseason. The Lions signed him to their practice squad last December but cut him loose a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft.

Turzilli previously served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.

In 2015, Turzilli appeared in three games and recorded two receptions for 25 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Titans.
