Golden Tate & James Jones Free Agent Options For The Giants?

Dan Graziano of ESPN New York takes a look at some of the free agent wide receivers the Giants could consider this offseason.

To start, Graziano doesn’t see the Giants re-signing WR Hakeem Nicks, but believes they could use another receiver to round out a receiving corps that consists of Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, and Jerrel Jernigan.

Graziano could see New York considering Seahawks WR Golden Tate and Packers WR James Jones as replacements for Nicks.

Of this group, I think Jones, who is 6-foot-1, makes the most sense for the Giants,” Graziano writes. “His history with new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo in Green Bay could help (or hurt, I guess, if McAdoo didn’t like the guy).

Packers free agents including TE Jermichael Finley and RB James Starks have also been mentioned as speculative options for the Giants now that they have hired McAdoo as their new offensive coordinator.

Tate has said that he would like to remain in Seattle next year, but it appears as though he’s prepared to test the open market and look for the best available contract.

We’ have heard much regarding Jones and his plans for the offseason, but the Packers do place a higher priority on retaining their free agents and Jones has played pretty well for them in recent years, so there is still a chance that they could get an extension worked out in the coming weeks.

We have both players listed in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
