Packers WR Greg Jennings Expects To Play On Monday

Packers WR Greg Jennings mentioned that as long he is close to 100 percent, he will be out there against the Seattle Seahawks come Monday night.

“It’s going to be something I’m going to have to push through right now,” said Jennings, via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “If I can get close to 100 percent, that’s all I’m looking for. I’m not looking to be 100 percent because that will never happen, ever, probably in my career. Ever.”

Jennings added that he did in fact suffer a small setback regarding his groin injury. Not having Jennings fully healthy has had an impact on the Packers passing attack this season. Jennings admitted that his conditioning could be an issue, so even if he plays, it may end up being on a limited basis. Green Bay has tough matchup in Week 3, so it will be important for Aaron Rodgers and company to come out an establish an early rhythm to offset a very solid defensive front.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy mentioned that they will take a “wait and see” approach regarding Greg Jennings status for Week 3.

He went through rehab today. It wasn’t what we expected when we saw him Tuesday,” said McCarthy, via Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Saw him run, but didn’t think he was ready to practice Tuesday. We’ll wait to see this week.”

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings was held out of practice on Thursday, as he’s dealing with groin injury, per Tom Silverstein.

Jennings did practice in pads yesterday, so it’s remains to be seen if this was a rest day for the receiver or if his groin did not respond well to yesterday’s practice. Rather than getting treatments done in the team’s facilities, the fact that Jennings watched practice may suggest that he is in line to return to the field on Monday. We’ll know more on Jennings’ status for Week 3’s game against the Seahawks in the coming days.
