Greg Jennings has since tweeted that his surgery went well and included a photo.

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will have surgery to repair a rectus abdominal tear this week, per Weston Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

“McCarthy wouldn’t go into specifics, but said wide receiver Greg Jennings will have surgery for his rectus abdominal tear this week after having Tuesday’s orginal appointment in Philadelphia postponed because of Hurricane Sandy,” Hodkiewicz wrote.

The postponement of the surgery should only delay Jennings’ return by a few days.  Jennings will likely be out three-to-six weeks following the surgery. He’s set to become a free agent at the end of the season, so he’ll definitely be looking to have an impact upon returning to the field. We have him listed as the No. 6 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
