Greg Roman A Candidate To Replace Marty Mornhinweg As Ravens’ Offensive Coordinator?

Yesterday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun mentioned that the lack of improvement for the Ravens offense since Week 5 could very well cost OC Marty Mornhinweg his job.

Mornhinweg took over for OC Marc Trestman midseason after he fired for a number of issues. However, the same offensive problems continued to show up under Mornhinweg including a lack of big plays, poor run production, and fundamental issues for QB Joe Flacco.

Baltimore has had five offensive coordinators in the past five seasons, but it appears as though the Ravens could continue this trend in 2017.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that one name to keep an eye on for the Ravens’ offensive coordinator position in the coming weeks is former 49ers and Bills OC Greg Roman.

Roman, 44, began his NFL coaching career with the Panthers back in 1995 as their offensive line assistant. He short stints with the Texans and Ravens before later being hired as the 49ers offensive coordinator in 2011.

Roman spent four years in San Francisco before the Bills brought him in run their offensive in January of last year. However, the Bills parted ways with Roman just a few weeks into the regular season.

We’ll have more regarding the Ravens’ offensive coordinator search as the news is available.
