Greg Schiano Not Sold On Josh Freeman As The Bucs’ QB?

According to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Tribune, everyone within the Buccaneers organization is sold on Josh Freeman as their starting quarterback except for head coach Greg Schiano.

The Buccaneers have mentioned that they would like to bring in some competition at quarterback this offseason, but this idea appears to be driven by Schiano more than GM Mark Dominik.

Tampa Bay has inquired about free agent options such as Matt CasselChase Daniel and even Carson Palmer, but there’s reportedly been “no sense of urgency in those negotiations.

Holder mentions that the Bucs could end up using one of their middle-round draft picks on a quarterback, but he doubts that whoever they may take will be able to ultimately push Freeman for the starting job.

The Buccaneers recently re-signed Dan Orlovsky, who figures to enter training camp as the team’s backup.
