Hakeem Nicks Is Ruled Out For Week 5

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has ruled out wide receiver Hakeem Nicks for their week 5 matchup against the Browns, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com.

“Coughlin said that Hakeem Nicks mostly is not playing to rest his knee and foot. No indication of any setback with foot,” Youngmisuk tweeted.

It’s been a bad run as of late for Giants wide receivers in terms of health. With Nicks now out against the Browns and it appearing more and more likely that Ramses Barden will also miss Sunday’s game because of a concussion, the Giants will have very limited depth at wide receiver against the Browns.

Domenik Hixon will once again fill in for Nicks this week. While serving as Nicks replacement last week against the Eagles, Hixon had six receptions for 114 yards. Rueben Randle should also figure into the mix this weekend.
