Albert Breer of NFL.com suggests that though Titans head coach Mike Munchak has yet to officially name the starting QB for the team, the tiebreaker could possibly go to Locker.
ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky suggests otherwise noting that the team’s loyalty to Hasselbeck for coming in and grooming Locker while satisfactorily performing on the field will give him the nod. He also mentions that unless Hasselbeck performs horribly in training camp and in the preseason or unless he suffers an injury, there really is no reason to rush in Locker.
Locker was given minimal opportunity to showcase his skills last year, playing a few snaps in the preseason and sparingly in the regular season in relief of Hasselbeck late in the season. Though playtime was sparse, Locker did show some promise at his position.
