Hines Ward Expected To Retire?

Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com reports that a Steelers player texted him following Sunday nights loss to the Denver Broncos and mentioned that the “expectations around the team”  are that WR Hines Ward will retire rather than return for another season.

A few months back Ward mentioned that he would like to return next year so there’s still a chance he plays again but the Steelers are getting younger at wide receiver which has forced Ward into a limited role with the teams offense. Obviously Ward has been one of the players in Steelers history but there always comes a time when the team will have to move in another direction. Hopefully for Ward and the Steelers they can work it out.
