The Green Bay Packers confirmed Monday that tests on WR Jordy Nelson‘s knee revealed that he has a “significant right knee injury” and is out for the season.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the “initial diagnosis” for Packers WR Jordy Nelson is that he has a torn ACL.

  • Green Bay is still waiting for the MRI results.

Assuming that Nelson does, in fact, have a torn ACL, it would end his 2015 season, and be a major blow to the Packers’ offense.

Nelson, 30, is in the second year of his five-year, $43 million contract that included $11.5 million signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $1.3 million (2015), $5.5 million (2016), $8.25 million (2017), and $9.25 million (2018).

In 2014, Nelson appeared in all 16 games and recorded 98 receptions for 1,519 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 receiver out of 110 qualifying players last year.
