Chargers Second-Round OL Forrest Lamp Out For Season With Torn ACL

Update:

The Chargers have already confirmed the news.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that initial tests on Chargers second-round OLĀ Forrest Lamp’s knee show he has a torn ACL. However, Lamp plans to get a second opinion in the coming days.

Either way, this is terrible news for Lamp and the Chargers, who were banking on him having an early impact on their offensive line at right guard. Beyond that, Los Angeles first-round WR Mike Williams is dealing with a back injury.

Assuming tests confirm an ACL injury, the Chargers will likely place him on injured reserve and sign someone in the near future.

Lamp, 23, was selected with the No. 38 overall pick by the Chargers.Ā According to OverTheCap.com, Lamp signed a four-year contract worth $6,666,906, which includes a signing bonus of $2,988,660.

During his four-year college career at Western Kentucky, LampĀ started 51 games for the Hilltoppers.
