Injury To David Gettis Leaves Panthers Thin At WR

The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that WR David Gettis suffered a twisted knee during the teams practice. The news gets worse as Panthers.com reports that Gettis in fact tore his ACL which leaves his season in question once again.

Carolina already had a little amount of depth at the wide receiver position so losing Gettis will ultimately force them to look at other available options.

A source from outside the Panthers organization tells me the team has inquired about Buffalo WR Lee Evans,” tweets Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette earlier Friday morning. “Interest level unclear.”

But he later followed up with “I’m told the Panthers are not going to trade for him. Never serious interest.

If it’s not going to be the best available option in the trade market then they’re going to have look at the available free agent players instead.
