Injury Update: Darren McFadden, Jacoby Ford, Matt Shaughnessy

According to Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune, RB Darren McFadden, WR Jacoby Ford, and DE Matt Shaughnessy are “near 100 percent” in terms of their health.

Darren McFadden

Yesterday McFadden confirmed that his injury was related to the Lisfranc variety which is exactly what had been reported during last last season.

Now that the Raiders have lost Michael Bush to the Chicago Bears, having a healthy McFadden is extremely important. It’s worth noting that McFadden has never completed a full season since being drafted in ’08, but certainly has the ability to be Top 10 running back in the league.

Jacoby Ford

Ford is coming off of a mid-foot sprain that really impacted his 2011 season a lot. He was able to return for the Raiders final regular season game which was a good sign for him moving forward.

It would make sense to see the Raiders use him as their kickoff returner season, but the rise of Denarius Moore will most likely relegate him to a #3 receiving option.

Matt Shaughnessy

Shaughnessy suffered a shoulder injury last year but was able to play in all but three games last season for the Raiders.

He actually recorded 7 sacks along with 2 forced fumbles in 8 games for Oakland back in 2010 so he has the ability to be a productive player for them.
