J.J. Watt Unanimously Wins Defensive Player of the Year

Texans DL J.J. Watt unanimously won the 2014 Defensive Player of the Year award Saturday.

This probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise given the type of year he put together for the Texans in 2014.

Watt, 25, appeared in all 16 games and recorded 78 tackles, 20.5 sacks, one interception, four forced fumbles, five recoveries, 10 pass defenses and two defensive touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 1 defensive end in a 3-4 by a huge margin.
