Jack Del Rio & Todd Bowles Could Be Options For Raiders If They Miss Out On Jim Harbaugh

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Raiders intend to try to land Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach, despite reports that he is prepared to accept the job at the University of Michigan.

According to La Canfora, Raiders owner Mark Davis is “committed to spending big” in order to get Harbaugh.

However, there has been a lot of buzz in the past 24 hours that Harbaugh to Michigan is a foregone conclusion.

Jason Cole points out that one issue for the Raiders is the fact that they will need to interview a minority head coach before they can hire Harbaugh. As of now, they have yet to do so.

In the event Harbaugh doesn’t take the Raiders’ job, La Canfora mentions that Broncos DC Jack Del Rio is “thought of highly in that building” and is likely to get an interview with the team.

According to La Canfora, Oakland is also expected to interview Arizona DC Todd Bowles.

As for GM Reggie McKenzie, La Canfora writes that Davis has continued to support him returning next year, but it’s likely to come down to how serious talks get with Harbaugh.

League sources tell La Canfora that Harbaugh is high on Eagles personnel executive Tom Gamble as a potential general manager.

We’ll have more updates regarding the Raiders as the news is available.
