Report: Jaguars Reach An Agreement With QB Chad Henne On A Two-Year Deal

Mike Garafolo reports that the Jaguars have reached an agreement with QB Chad Henne on a two-year contract.

  • Alex Marvez reports that Henne receives a two-year deal worth $8 million deal that incentives and $4.5 million guaranteed.
  • Marvez adds that Henne’s guaranteed figure breaks down to a $1.5 million signing bonus and $3 million roster bonus.

Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reported Thursday that “expectations inside EverBank Field is that Jaguars get contract done with QB Chad Henne before Saturday.”

Apparently, O’Halloran was spot on with his report as the deal got done in less than 24 hours since he posted it to Twitter.

The Jaguars used both Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert last season, but Henne was the more productive player of the two.

Henne, 28, completed 60.6 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,241 yards, 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

It’s worth mentioning that the Pro Football Focus has him rated as the worst qualifying quarterback in the league last year.
