Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey Underwent Core Muscle Surgery, Expected Back For Week 1

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that CB Jalen Ramsey underwent core muscle on Thursday. Although, Mike Garafolo reports that Ramsey is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Ramsey released the following statement from his injury:

To all my supporters and fans, I want you to know that I chose to undergo surgery to treat a minor injury that was very successful. I want to and will be the best version of myself that I can be for the upcoming 2017 season.

I will attack this rehab, refine my body and work as hard as I ever have to become the best Defensive Back in this league and to make everyone, including my family, teammates and city, proud of who I am.

I can’t wait to be back on the field with the team and show the world how we’re rocking this year.

Ramsey, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $23.35 million contract that includes $15.18 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $1.511 million for the 2017 season.
