Jaguars Claim Five Players Off Waivers Including TE James O’Shaughnessy

The Jacksonville Jaguars officially claimed five players off of waivers on Sunday including DT Eli Ankou, TE James O’Shaughnessy, LB Donald Payne, DB Lafayette Pitts, and OT William Poehls.

O’Shaughnessy, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.473 million rookie contract that included a $166,252 signing bonus and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the agreement.

He was traded to the Patriots in this year’s draft in exchange for the No. 183 overall pick.

In 2016, O’Shaughnessy appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs, but caught just two passes for -1 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
