Jaguars Don’t Have Plans To Spend Big In The Free Agent Market

The Jacksonville Jaguars have as much money to spend as anyone but that doesn’t mean that they’ll be in on a number of the best available free agents.

Jaguars GM Gene Smith mentioned that he doesn’t plan on being as aggressive in the free agent market as many expected.

I think (owner Shad Khan) understands the philosophy is to build your team through the draft,” Smith explained, via Florida Times-Union. “I think most teams have figured that out.”

Many have speculated that the Jaguars could be in on players like Mario Williams of possibly Vincent Jackson but Smith’s comments suggest that they’ll be looking for some modest priced opens on the market.
