Jaguars Hire Doug Marrone As Assistant HC/OL Coach

Ryan O’Halloran reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars are hiring former Bills HC Doug Marrone as their assistant head coach/offensive line coach.

Marrone was reportedly being considered for the team’s offensive coordinator position, but it appears as though they found a better position for him.

Previous reports had said that Marrone was likely to end up with the Texans if he didn’t secure a head-coaching job.

This is probably not the position Marrone had in mind when elected to opt out of his contract with the Bills, but he’s at least being paid his $4.5 million salary for the 2015 year.

Many around the league have a good deal of respect for Marrone, so it would not be surprising to see him get another opportunity next year.
