Jaguars Interviewing Former 49ers HC Mike Nolan For LBs Coach Position

Alex Marvez reports that the Jaguars are interviewing former 49ers HC Mike Nolan for their linebackers coach position.

  • Marvez adds that the Jaguars are also expected to hire Clemson assistant Marion Hobby as a defensive line coach.

Jacksonville continues to work to fill out their coaching staff under Doug Marrone, but it’s clear that Tom Coughlin has a big say in who’s being added and replaced on the Jaguars’ staff.

Nolan, 57, began his NFL coaching career with the Broncos as their special teams/linebackers coach back in 1987. Since then, Nolan has worked for several teams including the Giants, Redskins, Jets, Ravens 49ers, Dolphins, Falcons and most recently for the Chargers.

Nolan was hired as the 49ers head coach back in 2005 and led the team to a record of 18-37 over the course of 55 games. He never finished with a better record than 7-9.

We’ll have more regarding potential coaching moves involving the Jaguars as the news is available.
