Jaguars Meeting With Clemson QB Deshaun Watson This Week

Josina Anderson of ESPN is reporting that Clemson QB Deshaun Watson is scheduled to visit with the Jaguars on Wednesday and Thursday.

Watson visited with the Chiefs on Monday and is expected to travel to Cleveland to meet with the Browns today. Watson also worked out for the 49ers a few weeks ago.

It’s interesting to hear that the Jaguars have scheduled a meeting with a top quarterback prospect, given that they’ve been so adamant that they believe in Blake Bortles.

It seems highly unlikely that Jacksonville would use their No. 4 overall pick on Watson, as they could use this on a player who could have an immediate impact on their team in 2017.

Watson, 21, led Clemson to a National Championship earlier in the year and is now among the best quarterback prospects in this year’s draft class.

During his college career at Clemson, Watson has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 9,201 yards to go along with 83 touchdowns and 29 interceptions over the course of 32 games. Watson has also contributed 1,744 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns on the ground.
