Jaguars Not Giving In To Maurice Jones-Drew?

Peter King of Sports Illustrated believes that the Jaguars are going to let Maurice Jones-Drew sit and allow Rashad Jennings to handle the majority of the team’s workload this season.

King mentions that the Jaguars coaching staff, as well as the local media, have praised backup running back Jennings.

Jones-Drew has base salaries of $4.5 million and $4.95 million left for the next two seasons, but it’s not going to be easy for him to secure a long-term agreement at this point in his career. If anyone’s to blame, it’s probably Jones-Drew’s agent for putting him in this position.

Jennings has shown promise in the past, but injuries have really impacted his productivity in year’s past. Hopefully that will change this season.
