Jaguars Owner Shad Khan Open To Playing In London, Possibly Through 2030

Jaguars owner Shad Khan told reporters on Tuesday that he’s “optimistic” about renewing the team’s agreement to play an annual home game in London’s Wembley Stadium, possibly through 2030.

“I’m optimistic that we’ll have a renewal on that, and that it will go for a long time,” Khan said, via Jaguars.com“For us, LoPostsndon and Jacksonville is almost a marriage made in heaven.

It’s interesting that Khan referred to the agreement as a “marriage made in heaven.” However, Khan noted that it has also been the “No. 1 element in stabilizing” the organization.

“I think it’s a crucial part of our franchise, to be able to play games there, to get the recognition and get the fan base,” Khan said. “We have invested here and we want to invest obviously in London, and we want to have a long-term horizon to be able to do that.

While the NFL still appears to be years away from placing a team in the United Kingdom, they are clearly focused on playing games over seas and possibly in other countries.
