Jaguars Place C Brandon Linder On IR, Sign OL Patrick Omameh

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Tuesday that they’ve placed C Brandon Linder on injured reserve and signed OL Patrick Omameh and LB Martrell Spaight to contracts.

Linder, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He was entering the final year of his rookie contract when he agreed to a six-year, $52.4 million contract that included $24 million guaranteed with the Jaguars last year.

Linder stands to make a base salary of $5.5 million in 2019.

In 2018, Linder appeared in nine games for the Jaguars and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 7 center out of 35 qualifying players.

Omameh, 28, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in San Francisco before he was cut and later signed to the Buccaneers’ active roster a few months into the 2013 season.

After a few seasons with the Buccaneers, Omameh had a short stint with the Jaguars before signing a three-year, $15 million contract that included $5.5 million guaranteed with the Giants this offseason.

Unfortunately, the Giants waived Omameh this past weekend.

In 2018, Omameh has appeared in seven games for the Giants and is rated by ProFootballFocus as the No. 61 overall guard out of 75 qualifying players.
