Jaguars Place WR Allen Robinson On I.R. & Activate TE Marcedes Lewis

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed rookie WR Allen Robinson on season-ending injured reserve and activated TE Marcedes Lewis from the short-term injured reserve list, according to Hays Carlyon.

The Jaguars’ receiving corps has been hit hard with injuries this season as guys like Cecil Shorts, Allen Hurns and fellow rookie Marqise Lee have all missed time due to injury.

Robinson, 21, will finish his rookie campaign with 48 receptions for 548 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 10 games. Robinson has a bright future in the NFL and should be in position to take a step in his development next year.

Lewis, 30, is in the fourth year of his five-year, $35 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $6.65 million for the 2015 season.

He was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury following their Week 1 match up.
