Jaguars Place WR Rashad Greene On I.R. & Promote WR Shane Wynn

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed WR Rashad Greene on injured reserve due to an Achilles’ injury and promoted WR Shane Wynn to their active roster in a corresponding roster move.

Greene, 24, is a former fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2015 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2.523 million rookie contract that included a $243,816 signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 this season.

So far this season, Greene has appeared in eight games for the Jaguars and recorded five receptions for 32 yards, and lost one fumble. He also contributed 131 punt return yards.

Wynn, 24, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana back in May of last year. However, he lasted just a few months in Atlanta before he was claimed off of waivers by the Browns.

Wynn was unfortunately among the Browns’ roster cuts coming out of the preseason but later caught on with the Jets and Chargers. The Saints added him to their practice squad close towards the end of last year and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract.

New Orleans elected to place Wynn on waivers and was eventually signed by the Jaguars. Jacksonville made him one of their final roster cuts and signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

During his time at Indiana, Wynn appeared in 48 games with 36 starts while recording 189 receptions for 2,189 yards receiving to go along with 20 touchdowns.
