Jaguars Promote QB Stephen Morris To Active Roster

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, citing a league source, reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars promoted QB Stephen Morris to their active roster.

Morris went undrafted this year out of Miami.  He was signed by the Jaguars, and has spent the season on their practice squad.

Head Coach Gus Bradley has stated that QB Blake Bortles is leaning towards playing Sunday despite a foot injury, but this move could signal that his availability is still very much in question.

QB Chad Henne would start if Bortles is ruled out, but Morris would be the backup in that scenario, as the Jaguars only have three quarterbacks on the active roster.

Morris threw for 7,896 yards while at the University of Miami.
