Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union tweets that it’s “100% certainty that Gabbert and Garrard are in a competition to be Jaguars starting QB. No gimmies there.”
The Jaguars have been giving Blaine Gabbert more and more first team rep’s in recent days and Garrard’s back injury hasn’t helped his ability to fend off the rookie. Gabbert didn’t look all that bad in his first game but he certainly needs more time to develop. It looks like Garrard has some work to do if he intents on remaining the teams starting quarterback for the first game of the season.
